Mrs. Sarah E. Patton, 91, died at 7:55 p.m. Thursday at Culver Hospital. She was born March 29, 1877, the daughter of Elisha and Josie Owen Layne. She was married to J. W. Patton, at Browns Valley. Mrs. Patton resided at 414 W. Pike St. Mrs. Patton attended schools in Crawfordsville, where she was a member of the First Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband who died 11 years ago and a daughter, Lucille, who died in 1917. She is survived by a daughter, Beulah D. Bryant of Cleveland, Ohio; five sons, Lloyd L., James L., and Elbert L., all of Crawfordsville, and Leland O. and Edward E. of Indianapolis; 11 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Howard Miller officiating. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery at Waveland. Friend may call at the funeral home. – jlr
